Calabasas Fire...
These are all photos from my Nikon D70s, the new camera...

These photos were all taken September 29, 2005.  The 'Topanga' fire became the 'Calabasas' fire that fateful afternoon.  I was evacuated from my house; the fire came down across the street from my driveway.  Pretty scary...

God Bless the men in the big red trucks.  They started hosing down trees with fire retardant...

Fire began appearing all along the ridges first to the east and then directly north of the house...

These condos are on the north side of the street.  They were in the most serious danger.  No street for a fire break like mine...

Fire Bombers - They saved a lot of property.  It was a beautiful thing to watch...

The choppers flew until it got dark.  The air was full of circling traffic.  Pick up a load, rotate to the fire, drop, repeat...
